The Ruby Bandeau captures a moment of effortless composure. A woman in a crimson evening dress turns her head away, one gloved hand raising a long cigarette holder as a thin curl of smoke drifts into the pale space above her. Her bandeau and elegant silhouette suggest the glamour of another era, while her obscured face remains unreadable.

Her posture is precise, but the painting is deliberately loose. Rich crimson gives way to translucent washes, broken lines, and unfinished edges, allowing the figure's polished elegance to coexist with the rawness of its construction.
