The Cataphract Oath presents two heavily armored horsemen in opposing profiles, their towering silhouettes shaped by layered metal, upright spears, and extraordinarily elongated horses. In The Black Oath, rider and mount form a nearly continuous dark silhouette, while The Blood Oath reveals contrasting armor and markings across the horse's body.

Set against weathered ochre surfaces, the figures recall ancient cavalry images preserved on deteriorating walls. Their rigid postures and elaborate armor create an imposing presence without movement or battle, allowing the unusual proportions and severe simplicity of the compositions to command attention.

Part of The Ancient Horsemen, The Black Oath and The Blood Oath are sold exclusively as a matched two-print set.
