The Old Track: Across the Field - Horse Racing - Fine Art Print
Across the Field is the opening panoramic print from The Old Track, showing five racehorses and jockeys moving across a broad ochre field. Each pair follows its own rhythm, with enough space between them for the race to unfold as a measured procession rather than a single rush.
Sepia browns, worn golds, softened blacks, and distressed painterly marks lend the surface the character of aged sporting imagery. The generous space above the horses is as important as the figures themselves, preserving a sense of distance even as the riders press forward.
There is speed in the composition, but also stillness—the quality of a moving moment held until it begins to resemble memory. The narrow horizontal format allows that tension to extend across the entire field.
At 15 × 5 inches, the compact panoramic print retains the feeling of a small archival equestrian panel, complete with restrained white borders and identifying text.
