Daughters of Adobe: The Red Covenant is a two-piece fine art print set from the Daughters series, pairing I: The Red Seal and II: The Road Back.

Against pale, weathered adobe, two elongated, faceless women stand in aged ivory and oxblood red. Wide-brimmed hats, intricate embroidery, and long, fringed garments give the figures the formality of a ceremony whose terms have already been decided.

In The Red Seal, the women stand back-to-back, facing opposite directions. Their postures are composed, almost defiant, yet the shared crimson details of their clothing suggest a connection neither distance nor silence can undo. Whatever covenant binds them requires neither acknowledgment nor agreement.

In The Road Back, the women turn toward one another. Their lowered heads and near-touching hats create a moment of restrained intimacy against the deteriorating adobe wall. What was expressed through separation in the first panel becomes a quiet confrontation in the second. Whether this meeting represents reconciliation, obligation, or something left unfinished remains deliberately unresolved.

Oxblood, aged ivory, worn plaster, and restrained vaquera details give the set its particular character. The Western language is reduced to silhouette, material, and posture, leaving something more enduring than nostalgia: a bond made visible through color, distance, and the changing direction of the body.

Sold only as a matched set, the two works are designed as a diptych and intended to hang together.
