The Templar Rule presents two mounted knights against the cracked stone walls of a forgotten age. In The Black Mantle, a dark-cloaked rider sits upon a pale horse, his figure nearly concealed beneath the heavy garment. The Red Mark offers a striking contrast, its lighter mantle bearing the unmistakable red cross associated with the Knights Templar.

The horses stand motionless, their exaggerated proportions and slender legs lending the pair the appearance of ancient painted relics. Weathered masonry, restrained color, and severe silhouettes evoke the formality of medieval imagery without depicting a particular historical event.

Part of The Ancient Horsemen, The Black Mantle and The Red Mark are sold together as a matched two-print set.
